Florida blue centipedes (Scolopendra viridis) are a medium-sized Scolopendra that are native to the southeastern and southwestern US as well as Mexico and Central America. They display a variety of different phenotypes throughout their range and the Florida viridis are widely considered one of our best looking native centipedes. They are easy to care for and are a great starter Scolopendra for those looking to get into centipedes.
Currently available specimens are field-collected sub-adults and adults. Some may be missing a leg or two.
*Please keep in mind that all centipedes in the genus Scolopendra are venomous. While Scolopendra viridis is generally not considered a medically significant species, many others in this genus are and all should be treated with respect and caution.*
